This ship is something put together by me and my most beloved comfort! We do love it dearly, and the actual reality of Descendants canon is long lost to us. Oh dear.

To begin with, they would've fit so perfectly into Descendants (2015)! Mal's plan to use the cookies to spell Ben worked fine, sure, but what if it hadn't? Jane had already expressed her desire for male attention more than once - which is where Jay could've come in.

We already know Jay is "a prince of thieves, whose lies are as beautiful as his dark eyes," (Isle of the Lost, Melissa De La Cruz) and that he's as adept at stealing hearts as other things. Giving Jane what she wants in the form of pretty hair was a good start, but wouldn't giving her what she really wants get them so much closer to FG's wand?

In addition, Jay was the first of the group to want to stay in Auradon. He was, surprisingly, the one with enough emotional intelligence to know they would never please their parents. If anyone were going to be swayed by someone treating him lovingly, it'd be Jay.

Plus, c'mon, the family day angst of it all?

I just love to think of that moment in terms of Jay/Jane shipping, because it adds a lot more reasoning for Jay who, up to this point has shown pretty much little to no interest in seeing the plan through, to just say 'fuck it' and decide the Isle is a better option.

Also, it would, in turn, give Jane a reason to knowingly use the wand to open the barrier.

The AU possibilities are also so very perfect! Opposites attract, jock/cheerleader, fairytale rewrites, canon rewrites!
